I'm 30!

I had the best day. It's my 30th birthday, plus we had baby dedication at church. After church we had some friends and family over for lunch then Ben took the night off work so we could spend time together. He also got me a James Avery charm braclet with 4 charms: a cross, a motorcycle, an A and a little boy. I have the best friends, family and husband ever!

Green Beans

O has been eating rice cereal for almost a month now so today we tried baby food! Green beans :) He really seemed to like them. He cracked us up because he would take a bite then put his thumb in his mouth. He did this after every bite, but he finished the whole container like a champ!

Still Waiting

The chief's met again yesterday to approve transfers, and Ben's transfer still did not get approved. Ugh!!! I'm running out of patience 'cause I hate when things are up in the air. I've been praying that God will give us patience and I just have to keep reminding myself that He has a reason for it being delayed again.

There hasn't been a whole lot new going on here. I have some cute pictures of Owen on our camera, but for some reason, our computer doesn't recognize the camera when I plug it in to get pictures off it...so I don't have any pictures to post. Hopefully we'll get that resolved soon. I'm just enjoying staying at home being a little housewife/mommy. Life is good!

All Played Out

Nana bought Owen this exersaucer this week and apparently there is so much stuff on it that it wears Owen out! I put him in it to play so I could check my e-mail and after a few minutes I noticed that he was very quiet. When I went back in the living room, I found him like this!

Easter

Here is Owen enjoying his Easter eggs. We had a great day at church. We finally put him in the nursery and he did great! One of Ben's teachers from middle/high school was working in the nursery which made me feel better and she said that she just held him and loved on him the whole service!

Galveston

We went to Galveston this weekend and had the worst trip ever!!! We wanted to camp on the beach and I didn't think Owen was ready for that, so my mom came and got him and all his stuff for him to spend the night with them...first night away from me :( Our friends Mike and Angie and their kiddos Carsen, Avery and Roman along with our friend Bob came over to our house to load up all the four-wheelers so the guys could ride on the beach. It took forever to load up and we finally got on the road. When we got to Galveston, Ben and I were first in line to get on the ferry and we followed the car in front of us...who apparently got in the wrong line. So, we had to go all the way to the back of the ferry line. When we made it to the beach where our friends were waiting, we found out that the cops came by and told them that we couldn't ride four-wheelers on the beach--the whole reason for the trip! So, we sent Mike and Ben to drive to another beach to see if we could ride there and asked them to get more mosquito spray or candles while they were out because the mosquitos were about to carry us away. They found another beach that we could ride on so we packed everything back up and headed over there. When we got there, the mosquitos weren't bad at all...but there were gnats everywhere...we think this must be what the plauges in the Bible were like. Angie's kids were going crazy thinking they were about to die and we were trying to calm them down when we heard a crash. Bob had flipped his four-wheeler completely upside down in the sand. We all run over to help him and he is clearly hurt. We finally decided that it was just time to pack up again and go home. We took Bob to the emergency room and he had broken his clavicle. So, Ben drove his truck and trailer home and I drove Bob's truck and trailer home while our other friends David and Shirlee (who met us at the second location after they got off work) stayed with Bob at the emergency room. The next day I thanked Bob for taking my mind of missing Owen by getting hurt. He's such a good friend!

I go peek in at Owen every night before I go to bed and lately I've noticed that he's usually in the same position every night...so I started taking pictures of him sleeping. He usually starts out like this but by the morning, he's up on his elbows watching for me to come get him.

Haircut

Owen had long hair in the front that just looked weird sometimes, so we tagged along when Ben got his haircut today. When Sharon was done with Ben we asked her if she could cut Owen's bangs. He looks like a big boy now :(
