Well, we made it through Owen's first year. I still can't believe it. What a great year it's been!!

MDO
I am going to start working for the Mother's Day Out program at our old church two days a week! I'm very excited about it. Today was Open House and we'll start classes next Tuesday. I have three year olds so that should be fun. Owen will go to his own class too, so that will be great for him to be around other kids a few hours a week. He'll be the youngest one in his class, so hopefully the older kids can teach him stuff. Bonus: I get to see my wonderful friend Sada two days a week now since she's a teacher there too :)

The Frio River
We took our 3rd annual group trip to the Frio River and I think this year was the best ever. We were worried about the river being low...which it was...but we found this great little swimming hole that we went to every day. I was also worried that it would be a big hassle having Owen there, but he did great (although he did wake up at 6:45 EVERY morning) but he was a great baby and did really well. He took his daily naps on the river every day as I sat in my tube. Can't wait for next year!

Monkey Face
This is Owen's new face...it cracks us up!! My parents said I used to make the same face when I was a baby.

I'm 30!
I had the best day. It's my 30th birthday, plus we had baby dedication at church. After church we had some friends and family over for lunch then Ben took the night off work so we could spend time together. He also got me a James Avery charm braclet with 4 charms: a cross, a motorcycle, an A and a little boy. I have the best friends, family and husband ever!

Green Beans
O has been eating rice cereal for almost a month now so today we tried baby food! Green beans :) He really seemed to like them. He cracked us up because he would take a bite then put his thumb in his mouth. He did this after every bite, but he finished the whole container like a champ!

Still Waiting
The chief's met again yesterday to approve transfers, and Ben's transfer still did not get approved. Ugh!!! I'm running out of patience 'cause I hate when things are up in the air. I've been praying that God will give us patience and I just have to keep reminding myself that He has a reason for it being delayed again.
There hasn't been a whole lot new going on here. I have some cute pictures of Owen on our camera, but for some reason, our computer doesn't recognize the camera when I plug it in to get pictures off it...so I don't have any pictures to post. Hopefully we'll get that resolved soon. I'm just enjoying staying at home being a little housewife/mommy. Life is good!

Galveston
We went to Galveston this weekend and had the worst trip ever!!! We wanted to camp on the beach and I didn't think Owen was ready for that, so my mom came and got him and all his stuff for him to spend the night with them...first night away from me :( Our friends Mike and Angie and their kiddos Carsen, Avery and Roman along with our friend Bob came over to our house to load up all the four-wheelers so the guys could ride on the beach. It took forever to load up and we finally got on the road. When we got to Galveston, Ben and I were first in line to get on the ferry and we followed the car in front of us...who apparently got in the wrong line. So, we had to go all the way to the back of the ferry line. When we made it to the beach where our friends were waiting, we found out that the cops came by and told them that we couldn't ride four-wheelers on the beach--the whole reason for the trip! So, we sent Mike and Ben to drive to another beach to see if we could ride there and asked them to get more mosquito spray or candles while they were out because the mosquitos were about to carry us away. They found another beach that we could ride on so we packed everything back up and headed over there. When we got there, the mosquitos weren't bad at all...but there were gnats everywhere...we think this must be what the plauges in the Bible were like. Angie's kids were going crazy thinking they were about to die and we were trying to calm them down when we heard a crash. Bob had flipped his four-wheeler completely upside down in the sand. We all run over to help him and he is clearly hurt. We finally decided that it was just time to pack up again and go home. We took Bob to the emergency room and he had broken his clavicle. So, Ben drove his truck and trailer home and I drove Bob's truck and trailer home while our other friends David and Shirlee (who met us at the second location after they got off work) stayed with Bob at the emergency room. The next day I thanked Bob for taking my mind of missing Owen by getting hurt. He's such a good friend!

Still Waiting....
Ben called Monday about his transfer, and it turns out that he'll have to wait a little longer. Apparently they are transferring all the rookies first, then they will look at all the other transfers. He's pretty disappointed, but we know that it's for a reason, so he's being patient. Hopefully it won't be too much longer though.
